°®¶¹´«Ã½ Improv Players (R.I.P.) is an improvisational theatre troupe now celebrating 22 years on campus. RIP performs short-form shows a la "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" as well as long-form, one-act plays inspired by your suggestions. Most shows take place in the Sally K. Albrecht Studio Theatre inside the Tiedtke Theatre and Dance Centre.

The mission of °®¶¹´«Ã½ Improv Players is to create improvisational theatre that expresses challenging and provocative subject matter; to represent the dramatic and comedic aspects of student life and beyond; to dare ourselves and our audiences to grow, think, and act; and to serve °®¶¹´«Ã½ as a conduit for discussion and discovery, experimentation, play, laughter and community.

Improvientation

New to °®¶¹´«Ã½? You'll see R.I.P. perform before you start classes. As part of orientation, our improvisers present a signature show, developed and directed by the troupe's artistic director, Dr. David Charles. Improvientation weaves together monologues and scenes drawn from audience suggestions that playfully – and perhaps poignantly – explore all the feelings, fears and expectations that come with the start of college life.
